Interchange
One platform simplifies interchange
workspace management

THE BRIEF
Interchange is a coworking space for creatives, freelancers, and entrepreneurs located above the boutique Camden Market. They needed a tool for their residents to manage day-to-day activities, such as registering for events, booking meeting rooms, and providing visitors with digital access to the space.
THE PROBLEM
Interchange had been relying on several different third-party platforms to manage their daily operations. Without a single, unified system, these platforms didn’t communicate with each other, forcing Interchange to manually consolidate data to get a complete overview.
They needed an application that would serve as a single platform for workspace users. More importantly, they required middleware to integrate all third-party services into one place. This would make the app experience far more valuable, allowing users to complete all their tasks directly through the Interchange app.

THE SOLUTION
The Distance designed and developed iOS and Android apps that connected with various third-party systems, providing a seamless, integrated interface for multiple features.
A middleware layer was built to aggregate third-party content, enabling the apps to connect directly to this central hub.
The application was optimised for both mobile devices and tablets, reflecting the target audience’s preferred devices for interacting with the platform.
THE RESULTS
The app offers the Interchange coworking community a vital tool to manage their daily workspace activities. It also serves as a central communication platform, enabling staff and residents to connect, share news, and stay updated on events.
